April 23, 2019 – McNeilus Steel, Inc. will establish a new manufacturing facility in Morristown, Tennessee where the steel processor will create 72 jobs over the next five years.
McNeilus Steel will invest $18.8 million to build a 100,000 sq. ft. facility in the East Tennessee Progress Center. The company expects the facility will be operational in the first quarter of 2020.

At the Morristown plant, McNeilus Steel will fabricate metal parts for equipment manufacturers in the southeast. “McNeilus Steel’s investment in Morristown underscores the ripple effect of TNECD’s efforts to recruit new industry. McNeilus Steel will supply Oshkosh Corporation, a manufacturer we welcomed to Jefferson County a year ago. The growth of this type of manufacturing ecosystem is very promising for East Tennessee,” said Rolfe. “Morristown has strong momentum, and with the presence of companies like McNeilus Steel, I’m confident local residents will continue to have quality job opportunities.”
Headquartered in Dodge Center, Minn., McNeilus Steel is family owned and operated. “McNeilus Steel is very excited to expand our services to Morristown,” said Glenn Sylvester, COO McNeilus Steel, Inc. “Geographically this is an optimal location to continue to grow our family business. We look forward to getting this facility operational and adding quality employees from the region.”
The company supplies steel products and offers metal fabrication services to customers. It employs approximately 700 people in the U.S. and also has locations in Fargo, ND and Fond du Lac, Wis.
